Nothing much against immigrants..,but?

I hear plenty of cra.p emmanating from the inner cities where these foreigners have established their own colonies. If that weren't bad enough, they like to try and run them as per their own rules. I am not as lucky as so many acquaintances, as I live far out of an inner city subculture.



Does anyone else have these nostalgic yearning for the Britain that used to exist 20/30 yrs ago? Anyone else fed up with not being able to take a walk safetly after 2 in the afternoon? How about the open-pal policy of this decrepid modern Britain which is more than eager to hand out to any newcomer, rather than take care of its own?



Funny, though. History around the world has shown us that when there has been a Civil War in a country X, what emerges is usually a purified version....as if the trash and mentally disturbed are finally pushing up daffodils. What happened in England? Perhaps it's the disturbed and the trash that survived?

oh my freaking god. I just moved to NYC so I so feel your pain even if I live a few thousand miles away. Over here the problem I feel is that the people who don't even speak English are handed free money from the gov't while I have to bust my *** to get what little pittance they ever so graciously allow me to have. Doesn't matter that I have worked since I was 14 and paid into the system that long, I'm a white American citizen so I may as well go lie in the street and wait for the bus to hit me. They don't want to assimilate into the culture of the country they now live in, they want to bring "my country" with them and push out anyone who doesn't like it. I understand keeping your heritage but you move here for a reason. I understand pride in where you came from but you left there because it sucked so it apparently wasn't that great. I wouldn't go to your country to live without knowing the language of the land, so don't look at me like I'm the idiot when you don't speak English and I get pissed.



And Civil wars such as you described only happen in third world countries. Countries such as ours the it doesn't work that way. Only the uneducated, the stupid, the mentally deficient, and the "ppl that just shouldn't breed" has way too many kids and the cycle continues for generations. The smart people usually don't have enough kids to counteract the problem so the world will eventually be run by the people who have no business being in the position (already starting here - BUSH need I say more??)



So I guess I don't really have a solution to the big problem. The only thing I can do is raise the kids I hope to have to be intelligent humans with a respect for themselves and others.



And if it makes you feel any better I have a nostalgic yearning for a time in which I wasn't even around for. At least then you could speak your mind without being deemed anything before you spoke.

Reply:I am an emigrant to the US, so I feel I should answer your question. I came to the US after 6 year waiting period in 1967. I needed to have the results of my medical exam, chest x-ray, TB test and school transcripts to be admitted. I gave up my high school deferrment ( I thought it was the reight thing to do) and served two tours in the 101st Airborne in Vietnam. I came back torn up and badly wounded, finished school (I hold a MS in Chemical Engineering) and tried to live a normal life. I have no children but I adopt three girls, two orpahns from Indonesia (tsunami victims) and one orphan from the Phillipines (I am willing to give you case numbers from Christian Childrens Fund if you think I am BS you).

I guess I am trash and mentally disturbed for you, do not worry, because of my age and physical disabilities I will be pushing up daisies soon, you can then breathe easier.

P.S. England is just about the only country which managed to turn an empire on which sun never sets into a ramshackle world on which sun never rises (and did it without any help from emigrants) so enjoy !!!
