How the tattooing process works and where does it hurt most?

So I wanna get a tattoo within the next year. I've never had a tattoo before but I can take pain. I wanna get a vine starting at the top-middle of my back down to almost the middle with daffodils on it or I might just get a daffodil on my back between the shoulders blades. What do you think I should do? Does getting the tattoo filled in with color hurt more? How long does it take for a tattoo to be done and how costly is it?

Sorry about so many questions.

How the tattooing process works and where does it hurt most?
Tattoo pain differs from person to person. Going on the spine or any part of the body that's more boney hurts more.

As to how long it would take that would depend on how many breaks you take, how big the tattoo is and how much detail is in the tattoo.

Tattoo cost depends on a few things:

1. Size

2. Number of colors used

3. Details

4. Shop fees

5. Artist fees

6. State taxes

Cost will differ shop to shop, state to state. It's best to find a shop that is clean and that you like and bring your ideas/work to them and have them give you an accurate price.

I think what you have chosen sounds beautiful. Remember that your artist uses your skin as highlighted parts of the tattoo.
Reply:I have a tat there and it didn't hurt...it actually tickled so much I couldn't keep still laughing, the artist had to stop every once in a while for my giggling fits. It felt like little feet running across my shoulder blade and tickling me- I'm sure he thought I was crazy. It depends on your pain tolerance. Anything worth doing is worth pain... which means don't p*ssy out and just do it.

With all 3 of my tats I thought the outline and the color felt the same. And I know they say it hurts worse going over the bone, but for me that's not the case- it hurt only where I had a lot of nerve endings. It's not that bad hun, the stomach and lower back hurt the worst. Call an artist and tell them what you want and the size of it, and they'll give you an estimate.
Reply:Getting tattoos hurts but its a sweet pain. The back can be sensitive i have a piece on my back that took two, two hour sessions most of the work was shading and i have to say that hurt worse then the outlining. The time depends on how big and intricate the design is and most artists charge based time and difficulty of the design.
Reply:it only hurts when it goes over the bone! it's not really painful its just kind of annoying! the part that kinda hurt for me was when he was doing the final touches! my mom had a piece done with 7 different colors and i guess that hurt more! but i only have an all black one! the more color the more money, the longer it takes the more money, some tattoo artists charge by the hour some it all depends on where you go

where i went its 60.00 an hour

and 10.00 a color

hope this helped

i go to Painless steel in missoula montana
Reply:Just remember that a moment of indiscretion leads to a life time of regret.
Reply:Tattoos hurt the most in areas where there is no fat or muscle directly under the skin (aka right over a bone...)
