Can I plant daffodils in the Spring?

I forgot to plant daffodil bulbs in the Fall and was wondering if I could still plant them this Spring and have them start growing immeditately for a beautiful garden before summer? I don't understand why people plant them in the Fall.

Get them in the ground right away and be sure to use a lot of bone meal when you plant them. The nights may be cold enough to give you some bloom this year but that's the only way to save your bulbs. They dry out over summer if you don't plant them and usually die completely. Good Luck and God Bless
Reply:You can plant daffodils anytime of the year. They will not bloom until they've been through their cold dormancy. They will not bloom this year. Either wait 'til fall, or plant now and get no blooms.
Reply:Not likely. Any bulbs you have around needed to be planted last fall so they could get nutrients and water for the show in spring. They are probably a bit dry, or slightly decaying if they aren't trying to sprout. If they are sprouting, they are really delicate and don't do well if planted. If you want to try anyhow, they won't likely bloom until next year. But, I can't tell what shape they are in over the web,or what your weather is....
