What has happened to my daffodils? The flower stem did not come up and they did not blossomTops are brown/dead

oooo I think they got frost bitten.....If you live in the midwest that is probably what happened. I'm lucky enough to have put mine on the south side of the house so that didn't happen here in Illinois. Mine are so pretty right now....If I were you I would move them....It seems like the weather is becoming more unpredictable.

they popped up a little too soon and you must have had a few cold nights since. try planting them a little deeper to solve this problem next year
Reply:they died
Reply:Frost.
Reply:you must have had a severe frost at some time, let them die off naturally and give them a good feed then leave them until next year undisturbed
Reply:sounds like they got too much water and drowned.
Reply:either not deep enougth in ground or the weather just get some new ones
Reply:Frost does not affect daffodils so forget that problem. They are possibly in poor soil that needs refreshing with a dig and some compost or manure. They may have become infected with narcissus grub, the larva of a moth that burrows down into the bulb and eats the flower shoot, similarly they may have been eaten by slugs, they wrecked some of mine this year. Either way dig them up and look at the bulbs, if they are not eaten then replant them at least 6 inches deep in some nice soil and be patient for next year.
Reply:You planted them in cement
Reply:sometimes they won't flower because the bulbs are planted too shallow
Reply:Frost got to it, try potting them and bringing them inside for a little while watering them regularly and see if they can recover that way. Good luck.
Reply:planted them to soon.
Reply:Mine, too. I think it is from lack of rain and also the fact that it got warm, then cold, then warm again.

Good Luck.
