Now that my daffodils are finished blooming, can I cut them down to the ground?

I wouldn't.

Flowering uses a lot of resources and the plant needs to "recharge". It does this through the leaves. I don't cut mine back for a month or so.

Wait for all the leaves to turn brown. This lets the plant get as much energy as possible.
Reply:You can cut the flower stalk- but DON'T cut the leaves. The plant needs THOSE to store up food for next years flowers. Let those die back on their own...
Reply:It's important not to remove daffodil leaves since they help the bulb 'recharge' for next year. In Pennsylvania, it's safe to remove the foliage around the 4th of July. Fertilize daffodils with a balanced fertilizer (like 10-10-10) when they are finished blooming.
Reply:No, leave the leaves because the plant needs them to make food. In the fall when they die back you can trim them or leave them alone.
Reply:No, just take off the dead head and leave the greenery. It provides food for the bulb. Some people tie the leaves into a knot so that they are not lying on the ground. The goodness from the leaves help to make a strong bulb and possibly more flowers next year
Reply:NOT YET!! wait a month or so.
