Tattoo pain?

How much will a tattoo above my ankle bone on my calf hurt? I'm doing a daffodil.

Tattoo pain?
It will hurt like hell! I had mine done a week ago and it hurt 4 or 5 times worse than calf or hip/thy.
Reply:i have a tat that encircles my leg just above the ankle bones. the most painful part was the skin over the tendons on the front and the back of the leg. the sides were pretty pain-free. good luck!
Reply:the more meat the better, on the bone, goes all the way thru your body it seems, makes my teeth chatter...small %26amp; cute always is sexy on a woman to me
Reply:Any thing that breaks the skin will hurt! Where you are going to get yours will hurt you some. Don't move though...You don't want your daffodil to come out looking like a dandelion!!! LOL
Reply:it micght hurt if its near the bone i got a tattoo on my foot and it hurt really bad for me...but i could be a baby
Reply:Hurts more after it's done when it's healing that it does while being tattooed.
Reply:hmm... well i just got the inside of my ankle tattooed towards the heal next to the bone..it was fine in the beginning..although near the end it hurt sooooo much.... I think if you go right above your ankle it might not hurt so much there, its kinda rough skin. although if you do your calf (near the back of your leg) that will probably hurt a lot... It also varies: person to person, location to location, and tattooist to tattooist (some go harder than others)

I think it will probably be most painful at the areas closest to the ankle and closest to the back of your leg. Also remember though that your body produces endorphins and adrenaline and what not to help ease pain.

How big is the daffodil? the bigger it is the longer it will take, and time plays a good roll on pain too. Also I've heard a lot that coloring hurts a lot too. I only have black tattoos so i don't know. Outlining hurts a lot too cause its only like 1 or 2 needles, but shading needles are more needles so they hurt a bit less.
Reply:It's also true that different parts of the body are more and less sensitive. Areas that are fleshy (upper arm, calf, abdomen) tend to feel pain less than areas close to bone (an ankle, elbow, or the spine, for example). Some people will describe it as a hot scratching sensation while others will feel something more acute. Some people will wince and practice a breathing exercise to control the pain while others chat casually and even seem to doze. It's also remarkable how much of an effect your tattoo artist can make, both physically and mentally, on your experience of pain in the tattoo process
