How do I keep squirrels out of my garden...?

Without killing of the things I've planted. They're digging holes all over the place, and I mean deep holes, and digging up my bulbs. And for some reason, all my yellow flower bulbs, daffodils, and tulips and leaving the pink ones... Help. One more thing, this is in my front yard and I can't put a fence around, or on it.and it's only a 6' by 50' area.

Give them an alternative to munch on. Try getting some Indian corn or even just regular corn and hang it somewhere close to the garden. I can't say this is guaranteed to work but I know they should pay more attention to the corn than your flowers.
Reply:You need to give this one up. I remember seeing a documentary from the UK showing squirrel obstacle courses with revolving disk holes, elastic ladders and every thing else you can think of with food at the end. It took them several days to figure it all out but they always did.
Reply:There is a "motion activated" device on the market which attaches to your garden hose and turns on when anything comes by. Squirrels generally do not like being sprayed. "Scarecrow" is one brand...probably others are available.
Reply:Get a BB gun
Reply:Put cayenne pepper on the dirt after planting your bulbs. Apparently they hate it.
Reply:Try getting some chicken wire or hardware mesh and laying it on the ground around and between the plants, then putting mulch over it. That should prevent them digging.
Reply:put fox or wolf urine in it. They will recognize the scent and stay away.
